Batman vs. Superman: Who Do Stars Prefer? - Casting Reactions Pt. 2

You have to hand it to the guys over at Total Film. For months now, they've been asking every star they come across to make the ultimate choice: Batman or Superman?.. this group pretty much sucks. Whatever Batman lovers. More Superman for us to go around.

Today we're also still reading your funny reactions on twitter, after the latest Batman vs. Superman casting news. Here are a few of our favorites.

And what's wrong with THAT??? - we happen to like troubled men ;)

You guys crack us up. The Film School Rejects article is actually a really good read, highlighting why having these characters in the Man of Steel sequel could be a good thing. Since we're talking other superheroes, we have a bit of an update on Wonder Woman, courtesy of  Gal Gadot's Fast 6 costar Gina Carano. ;) -- She talked to the Toronto Sun about her experience working with Gadot, and the criticism that has come from some fans thinking she's not strong enough to play the role:

“I worked with her on Fast & Furious 6, and she’s amazing,” says Carano. “Such a great person with such a solidness in her character, so I’m very excited for her to do that.”

“I think people have an idea what they consider Wonder Woman. I definitely know (Gadot) has been training and there’s so much more that goes into being a strong female character.”

Have a little faith, this film will be AWESOME. Enjoy your weekend everyone.

  1. I believe the point of his comment was them being in the ONE movie.

And that's a lot of angst and whoa-is-me for a film.

I have NO idea what WB/DC are doing with their DCU but.....I'm getting less and less enthused every time a new story comes out. Which is disheartening for a DC fangirl.

  2. This will be the audience reaction too. Placing Batman in the film was a big mistake for Superman/Henry Cavill. He will be an afterthought. Thank you WB for nothing.

  3. I'm still excited for this movie and think it will focus on Superman with Henry Cavill as the lead, Batman featured as a guest star, and the other heroes (e.g., Wonder Woman, Cyborg, etc.) having minor roles. The events after Zod's arrival are a perfect opportunity for the other heroes to come out of hiding and rally together (eventually) with Superman to defeat the new villain(s). I am also sure the movie will address the destruction of Metropolis and the validity of Superman will be questioned.

There have been plenty of other movies with many characters that have clear leads (e.g. Harry Potter movies starring Harry Potter, the Lord of the Rings starring Frodo, the Avengers starring Iron Man, etc.). This is the same case so I, for one, am not worried Superman will be overshadowed.

    1. I can't wait for this movie to be released. All will be revealed, and probably not before then. All of the supposed "critics" will be wrong and it will be fun to see/hear them eat their words. This movie will be amazing. :)

    2. Agreed! I'm sure it's going to be good at the very least, if not awesome. All this negativity is baffling. It's like people want WB/DC to fail.

  4. Henry's forward wrinkle crisscross pattern was disconcerting to me in MOS close-ups. You can see it in one of the above photos. WB should spring for some botox treatments during filming.

    1. Actors faces are supposed to be expressive and be able to move. I hope to see more actors who forgo botox and plastic surgery and look like real human beings for a change.

    2. I agree re: botox etal. Meg Ryan is an example.

    3. I think it's the massive amount of filler that's Meg Ryan's problem, not the botox.

Sandra Bullock's botox is damn good. She's JUST starting to look a little frozen.

    4. You're probably right & I can understand why women feel like they need to do this - very hard to age in Hollywood BUT sometimes it looks worse than the wrinkles.

Sandra does look good whatever she's doing. I would love to know cause I scare myself sometimes when I use a magnifying mirror LOL.

  5. I love Gina and how supportive she is of Gal Gadot. If only every women would be like her, no jealousy and just support each other that's for sure women will rule the world! Lol

    1. Agree! Too bad there are some women who love to tear other women down.

      Gina is a class act!

  6. Thanks for that 2 cents worth, Gina "Wonder Woman is an alien" Carano - but this isn't just "a strong female character" - this is Wonder Woman, so her size and physicality are extremely important.

    1. Yeah...makes me sad. Nothing new though - if I were a celebrity I would never read the comments section. I think these "people" go from site to site to make their vicious comments.
