It is not. He's about to start filming Justice League, and has said he's ready to be Superman for as long as they'll have him. Just over the weekend USA Today quoted him again on his excitement about being part of the DC cinematic world. So hopefully for many years to come.
To clarify, the Variety and such reports are that his contract is not being renewed. 3 picture deal as was always the plan. He will be in JL1 but not JL2.
I hope that Henry gets to play the roles that he wants to play. What a shame if he were to be reduced to a cameo role. I am neither a comic book fan nor a special effects laden movie fan but if Henry loves playing Superman then I hope he gets to play him and play him in a leading role. I don't know how anyone could fault his performance in MOS. I do hope he gets to do other kinds of roles like more Napoleon Solo, the next James Bond, and some more period drama. Henry can do it all superbly.
Lol his great sense of humour. And however long Henry remains Superman, I'm in no doubt he will do a great job for the DC Universe, as he has been doing. Go Supes!!
Did anyone see the fanboy reaction to Henry's USA Today interview? He talked about playing Clark and Superman and used a football analogy. As usual, the fanboys loved it. They luuurve Henry as Superman, as do I!

ReplyDeleteApparently, it seems, BvS will be Henry's last outing as Superman. Hope he goes out with a bang.

DeleteHopefully you are right. Some film sites are reporting he may be reduced to a cameo in JL. I hope its because he is moving on to better projects.

DeleteI don't remember Variety and the bigger trades saying that. If you have a link feel free to share.
DeleteI think this anonymous poster is yanking our chains. And/or has never read a comic book!

ReplyDeleteYou can't have the Justice League without Supes. Henry will sign up agsin - this time for more money!
ReplyDeleteI'd guess WB is waiting to see how BvS does before negotiating a contract with Henry.
DeleteLOL!
