We know many of you can't get enough of Henry's British accent, but his American one is also pretty on point. And it earned him high marks in a new study conducted by language app Babbel.
Study Ranks American Actors’ British Accents, and Vice Versa https://t.co/hOXiD3Juow via @variety— Rafferty Rulz (@Rafferty_Rulz) February 28, 2017
Babbel commissioned ex-pat professional actors from both the UK and US to vote on a five-point scale on how convincing the accents were for leading parts in blockbusters grossing over $100 million.
For the United States accent, American Actors UK awarded British actor Chiwetel Ejiofor a 4.5/5 for his work as Solomon Northup in “12 Years a Slave.” Tied for second are the DC superheroes; Christian Bale as Batman and Henry Cavill as Superman both garnered 4.2/5 scores.
Another Batman v Superman moment, so we'll cast the tie-breaking vote: Supes for the win!
We'll be hearing more of that commanding voice, when he returns in Justice League.
Thanks for the tip Barbara.
I love both keep up the great work henry cavill
ReplyDeleteI agree Heidi! I can listen to him speak in either accents!!

He speaks with American accent so perfectly, sometimes I forget he's British.😋
ReplyDeleteI was certainly convinced that he was American when he first spoke in MOS. It's also noticeably different in his other films The Man from Uncle and The Cold Light of Day. Wonder how he's gonna sound in Sand Castle...
ReplyDeleteHe is supposed to have a southern accent for that one. I was wondering what accent he'll have for Nomis.. Midwestern maybe.
DeleteHe has a good American accent but love his British accent.
ReplyDeleteOhh I can't wait to get his Southern accent.😋
ReplyDeleteOf course Henry masters both, yet I have found myself watching The Tudors or Immortals just so he can be heard in his own voice,it would be lovely if Henry could find a script that is of the epic or period style of drama. It would be stunning to see him in a Ridley Scott directed movie starring alongside Russell Crowe for example, they deserve to star alongside each other in a full length movie x
ReplyDeleteThey have great chemistry as father and son in MOS, it would be awesome to see these two work alongside each other again given that Russell Crow is one of his favorite actors.
ReplyDeleteI agree wholeheartedly Amalia, they would be amazing in a feature film together , if I'm correct, Gladiator is one of Henry's favorite movies too...Or the most favorite that stars Russell. It's the kind of epic historical drama or an action type movie that could really work. Plus putting the epic theme aside for a bit.....We all know that Henry would set the screens alight if he became James Bond...... He'd be stunning
ReplyDeleteWhen I first heard him speak, many long years ago, I tried to Henry-Higgins him but couldn't. He didn't sound English, but then what -- Australian? No. New Zealander, then -- no. Oh! South African! No. It took a lot of listening to guess Channel Islands! So then I just looked him up. Because my next guess would have been, I don't know, Singapore or something. Toughest case of my whole career. But yes, his American accent is impeccable. He even got the consonants right, and consonants are usually ignored from one dialect to another.
ReplyDeleteHenry's American accent is perfect! I just love his voice tbh :) Nicole
ReplyDeleteI agree Nicole, I love to hear his voice in ANY accent.😋
