'Nomis' Set For World Premiere At LA Film Festival

The news you've been waiting for is here!

Nomis will have its world premiere at the LA Film Festival on Friday, September 28. The David Raymond directed film will close out the fest at The Arclight Hollywood.

Here is the official announcement on their site:

First, let’s talk about Closing Night. Presumably, erstwhile big screen Superman and occasionally mustachioed Mission: Impossible antagonist Henry Cavill doesn’t have a whole lot of time in-between mega-blockbusters to make taut indie thrillers, right? So when he does, you know it must be something special. Which is precisely the case with first-time director David Raymond’s new psychological crime drama Nomis.

Also starring Sir Ben Kingsley, Nathan Fillion, Minka Kelly, Alexandra Daddario and Stanley Tucci, the film’s plot is thus: when the police trap an online predator, they soon realize that the extent of his crimes goes far beyond that of his own psychological trauma.

Says LA Film Festival Director Jennifer Cochis: “As a festival that’s always championed new voices, it’s only fitting to be closing this year with the work of a first time writer-director,” describing the selection as “a thrilling film made all the more terrifying by the performances from his incredible cast.”

Organizers also released some new Nomis stills and an updated synopsis:

When police trap online predator Simon Stulls, they soon realize that the extent of his crimes go far beyond that of his own psychological trauma. Nothing quite makes sense, that is until people involved in the case, on both sides of the law, start getting murdered…

Tickets for the premiere screening are now on sale rush line only.

  1. Wooohooo!!! Congratulations Henry and David!! I know this will be a special film...I cannot wait to see Nomis. Fabulous, wonderful news. Hopefully Henry will have time to introduce the film at a local screening in Miami, like he did for Fallout! Xx

  2. Am looking forward to seeing this. I have to admit...before Man of Steel had no idea who he was....didn't even realize he was in one of my favorite movies from the early 2000's...The Count of Monte Cristo. Once Man of Steel came out I had to find out who this gentleman was and glad I did. Have enjoyed watching some of his previous movies and watching him evolve into a great actor. Now...how do we get you to Minnesota to film a movie??? Keep up the great work. Anxious to see him in The Withcer.

  5. This sounds like a very interesting film and I am looking forward to seeing Henry in something a little more challenging than Superman movies. I thought he did a good job of August Walker but I am really excited about this movie.

    1. I agree with you although I think the physical training for Superman is challenging. I am excited for this too. I am more interested in independent movies than mainstream ones.
